How to use LinkedIn for Business

In last week's "How to Tuesday" post we looked at some tips on How to use Facebook successfully within the field of International Education. This week we are going to look at another platform - this time we are focusing more on B2B business by looking at LinkedIn.

Here we go:

  1. Be Specific in your profile - Remember that LinkedIn is not a CV uploader. Although it is possible to upload your CV to LinkedIn, the profiles which tend to be more specific and more focused on the user's current job attract more visitors.
  2. Share articles - Like any other social media platform, you need to be present and consistent on LinkedIn too and you get to do this by sharing frequent posts and content, especially articles which are related to your job and area of specialization.
  3. Interact with others - LinkedIn users are also very successful when they interact on other pages and with other users by commenting and liking other people's posts.
  4. Use hashtags - Hashtags help increase your visibility on LinkedIn too especially when you share posts or articles on your profile, page or in your group.
  5. Join industry groups - Groups are very active on LinkedIn and you always find interesting discussions going on in the various groups that you may join. The important thing is that once you do join these groups, you are active in them.
  6. Create a company page or group - Company pages and groups create a sense of community so if you aim is to have a group of like-minded people sharing information and examples of best practice on a social media platform, then a LinkedIn grouphttps://www.linkedin.com/groups/8353512/ or page is where you should do this.
